There are so many whitening products available.
I am sure that many of you have been exposed to the TV commercials about teeth whitening products and may have even tried them on yourself. It gets confusing to understand the differences and the efficacy of each product. Whether it be whitening toothpaste, whitening ‘strips’, or mouthrinses; so many purport to whiten teeth. In reality, many of these products work to a limited degree over time. Technically speaking, the science of tooth whitening is an elaborate chemical procedure that has to be executed with precision in order to be effective and safe to the oral tissues. Think about it; our teeth are surrounded by saliva, food particles, tongue and cheek. For these over the counter bleaching products to remain in an active form and interact with the tooth surface long enough to effect a whitening oxidation change, is nearly impossible!
